INITIAL UK & EASA CLASS 1 MEDICALS

  • We are one of only three Aeromedical Centres in the UK approved to certify applicants for an initial UK & EASA commercial pilot’s medical certificate, and are the only AeMC outside London and the South East with this approval.

  • You do not have to fast before the medical.

    • Photo ID

    • Your completed EASA application form (if applying for an EASA medical)

    • A UK CAA Cellma online application form (if applying for a UK CAA medical. You do not need to bring a printed copy)

    • Your completed mental health questionnaire (do not date or sign)

    • Your glasses or contact lenses, and your most recent eye prescription (if applicable)

    • Your medical records relating to any significant medical history.

    • Eye drops may be used that cause temporary glare or blurred vision. If you drive, only drive once your vision has completely returned to normal.

    • Applicants with previous LASIK or refractive surgery must provide a report to include dates, type, refraction, and complications.

Our waiting room overlooks Runway 33, so you can enjoy watching take-offs, landings, and occasional go-arounds during your visit.

Birmingham Aeromedical Centre is a UK CAA & EASA approved Aeromedical Centre (AeMC) authorised to perform initial UK Class 1 and Class 3 medical examinations and assessments.

OTHER USEFUL INFO

  • Photo ID

    A valid passport is the only accepted ID. Without it, no medical will be conducted and the full rebooking shall apply.

  • Medical History

    Bring medical records for significant current or past medical history. Further reports or referrals may be required.

  • Contact Lens

    Contact lens wearers will be examined without lenses. Bring a spare pair and your lens solution.
